1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how HomeCache (“the App”) handles user data. The App is owned and operated by Andrew Melian and is available on iOS and Android.

HomeCache is a local-first application. We do not require user accounts, and we do not operate backend servers that store user inventory data.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Create (Stored Locally Only)

All data you enter into the App is stored only on your device and is never transmitted to our servers.

This includes, but is not limited to:

• Rooms / Areas (names, icons, images)
• Locations, containers, and boxes
• Inventory items (names, descriptions, quantities, estimated values, images, manufacturer, serial number, model number, purchase date, original cost, warranty date, product links, and custom fields)
• User-defined tags
• Auto-generated barcodes and QR codes
• Report and export preferences

Storage method: Device-local storage using AsyncStorage with Zustand persistence.

Data retention: All data remains on the user’s device until the user deletes it or uninstalls the App.
